Welcome to the Enaleni blog, where the Zimbabwean diaspora meets the energy in the Zimbabweans at home. This is about a tale of two journeys that when combined in humility and co-operation creates a powerhouse. It’s about each of us bringing to the table our skills, wealth of experience and a passion to build a legacy. It’s not about the diaspora vs the remainers, nor is it about making it big as an individual while everyone else struggles. This is about all things community.

So, what can you expect from this blog? A long journey of the formation of Enaleni. The windy road, the story of coming of age and not only realising we are the ones we have been waiting for but believing this and acting on it. Here you will read about staying connected to home, re-building relationships, making mistakes and finally returning to Zimbabwe for some of us.

Contributors to this blog will bring about the best, the funny and the challenges that have also presented an opportunity. Some of our kids from families who have upped-sticks and returned home will write too. The remainers will contribute a much-needed perspective of navigating the Zimbabwe the diaspora has long lost context of. Because it’s about all of us playing our part to create something new. It’s about bridging the gap, it’s healing for our souls.

So stay turned and do also follow us on social media platforms to see our current project in which diaspora remittances are unlocking agricultural productivity. It does not get better than this!
